Abstract

Cement industry is an industry that requires a large enough energy. Cement plants are looking for alternative energy sources given limited fossil fuel reserves at inflated prices. The use of alternative energy in the cement industry should not reduce the quality of the cement itself, therefore quality control is required. One of the wastes that can be utilized to become an energy alternative to the cement industry is oil sludge. The purpose of this study was to find out the best temperature and time of oil sludge of moisture content and heating value. The research method is carried out by heating oil sludge at a temperature of 105°-165 ° C with the method of gravimetry and karlfischer. The results of the analysis of moisture content produced at 105 ° C at 3,4 and 5 hours amounted to 54.48%, 54.97%, and 55.25%. At 165 °C a tempertaure of 30,45, 60 and 120 minutes obtained moisture content of 43.14%, 50%, 52.99% and 54.58%. By the method karl fischer obtained moisture content of 50.97%. Futhermore high oil mud moisture content then heating value low.
