Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to obtain an overview of the urgency of recognizing the birth of a country, whether obtained peacefully or by force, which is the first step in establishing diplomatic relations. This writing uses a descriptive method with literature study data collection techniques, The theory guide is constitutive and declarative theory.Based on the results of the discussion, it was found that the recognition of the birth of the new state involved political dan legal dimensions. In other words, the opening of diplomatic relations is a continuation of the recognition of thebirth of a new country.Furthermore, the opening and maintenance of diplomatic relations on the basis of equality of rights is a real manifestation of the sovereignty of a country in accordance with article 2 of the Vienna Convention of 1961
