Abstract

Empowerement society aim is to provide training skill in producing herbal drinks made from red ginger and turmeric and increase income of Riyadhul Huda Islamic Boarding School in Babakan Ciangsana Village, Gunung Putri District, Bogor. Habit in consuming herbal drink may improve community resistance to COVID-19. The technology applied in the manufacture of red ginger and sour turmeric drinks is infundation extraction method. Infundation is simplicia extraction in water at 90ºC for 15 minutes. Herbal drinks are made from raw materials in form of whole, chopped, powder, or extract (juice). Based on questionnaire filled out by the respondents was to find out the extent of the respondent's knowledge of the training. Based on analysis results of the respondent's questionnaire data, there was an increase in the knowledge of the trainees after getting exposure to the material about processing red ginger and turmeric as anti-oxidants in herbal drinks. The output of this activity is herbal drink product to increase endurance and knowledge of nutritious herbal and increasing the motivation of the participant to independently develop alternative herbal drinks according to their needs.
