Abstract

This research aims to analyze the utilization of Information Technology (IT) in the business development of PT Pegadaian. PT Pegadaian is a leading pawnshop service provider that has been operating in Indonesia for decades. In line with technological advancements, PT Pegadaian has adopted various IT systems to enhance operational efficiency and expand its business. This study discusses the utilization of IT in various business aspects of PT Pegadaian, including operations, marketing, risk management, and product development. The research objectives were to examine how PT Pegadaian utilizes IT in their business development, identify the business aspects influenced by IT adoption, and explore the benefits derived from IT implementation in their business development. Through a qualitative case study methodology, data were collected through interviews, document analysis, and observation. The findings reveal that PT Pegadaian has effectively utilized IT in their business operations, leading to improved efficiency, enhanced decision-making processes, expanded marketing capabilities, strengthened risk management, and facilitated product evelopment and innovation. The integration of IT systems has allowed PT Pegadaian to automate manual processes, optimize operational workflows, personalize customer services, and gain a competitive edge in the market. The study concludes that the strategic use of IT has provided significant benefits to PT Pegadaian in their business development. The findings highlight the importance of IT adoption for operational efficiency, customer-centric marketing, risk management, and innovation. These insights can guide other organizations in leveraging IT to enhance their business practices and achieve sustainable growth. Future research can further explore the long-term impact of IT implementation in the evolving business landscape.
