The Internet of Things has become wellknown coiciding the vision of a massively instrumented world of intelligent inputs (analog, digital, video, audio) and outputs communicating using Internet data communications concepts and technologies. There is a broad range of benefit IoT applications for health care, traffic control, vehicle safety, energy, agriculture, and manufacturing. This article aims to take advantage of advances in information technology to calculate the volume of vehicles on the highway which is usually done manually by placing people as recorders of the amount of existing traffic count. The method used in this research is by recording a video of traffic movements with a handphone camera which is stored in an mp4 format video frame. Calculations are carried out in the office after getting recorded video and using a program prepared by the author using python, opencv and yoloV5 software facilities. Traffic volume is counted when passing a counter box and the traffic volume data is saved in excel format. Video recorded was carried out by taking a video at the location of the Transyogi road at the Ciputra pedestrian bridge, Cibubur, West Java. The results of the accuracy obtained by using the YOLO is very good for detecting vehicle volume which has a measurement accuracy for motorcycle of 91.9%, cars 98.6%, bus s 86.7 % and trucks 86.6%..
